My Images
I've decided not to add every single piece of art I've created in the past on this blog. Instead I will add pieces that are favorites of mine as well as new pieces recently completed.
A full gallery of my work can also be seen at: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/browse.php?username=datura_dude

Who Is Denzil Jordaan?
Art has always been a provocative expression of human creativity. Art in itself presents us with a myriad of different ways in which to view both the world around us and the world that exists within our minds.
I've created this blog in order to present my art to a wider audience and I hope that anybody who views it will find something appealing in at least one of the pieces.
I was born in 1980 in a country called South West Africa (now called Namibia) where I spent the first five years of my life absorbing the sights and sounds of the lazy Kavango river, so utterly different from the endless dry expanse of the great Namib Desert. My formative years were spent growing up in Durban and Cape Town and I still have no idea what I want to do with my life. My art started off, because I needed something interesting to hang on my walls at home - I needed something that I liked aesthetically and I couldn't find anything else that I felt suited my personality.
I am by no means an artist in the traditional sense as my art is completely digital - a CRT monitor being my canvas and a computer aided design program my brush and paints.I've created this blog in order to present my art to a wider audience and I hope that anybody who views it will find something appealing in at least one of the pieces.

The benefits of digital art is most notably the reduction of material costs and the nullification of time wasted from waiting for paint to dry. Once a design is finished I have the option of what size I'd like it printed onto canvas according to my or a client's specific needs.
The entire timescale taken by the process can fluctuate from as little as a day or as much as a few months. This all depends on the piece being created as most of them seem to grow and create themselves - unpredictability is the most predictable facet of digital art.
